Since 2000, we have invested over £600,000 in developing our proprietary knowledge base on the European Asset Management Industry. This now contains over 40,000 records on individuals across all job functions and asset classes, in more than 3,500 companies across the EMEA region. So, on the whole, we already know who all the personalities in the market are.

These days, almost anyone with access to the internet can produce a list of ‘candidates’ based purely on quantitative data such as their job function or career history. The key value we add is through our extensive network of relationships, which allows us to select candidates based on qualitative data: not ‘what job do they do?’, but ‘how well do they do it?’. This means that 90% of our research effort is directed at qualifying potential candidates through systematic qualitative referencing of our market sources.

Godliman has spent 10 years building up a network of friendly market contacts across the EMEA region. We have done this by systematically providing useful information to a large number of people, including weekly Press Digest e-mails, Salary Surveys, Competitor Intelligence and career advice. To add depth to the market referencing, Godliman uses a competency-based interview approach, around key criteria specified by our clients. We also thoroughly assess team fit and personality through our specialist partners Enabling Vision. This allows us exhaustively to assess the short list candidates for best fit.
